My burning candle
By: Lost Mirage
This story was written in the texts beyond any time. It is a tale of all tales, one found in many different stories. The cupid and the rabbit, characters confused by their own lust. Each wanting more and more of the other until they are both drained, sucked dry, dripping with regret. They decided it would be best to separate and not interact while their nervous system resets.
The cupid found themselves on a cloud of grass reading the ancient texts and decided to throw an arrow to the wind to see where it goes! Wanting to just act in the moment and without thinking, they threw it impulsively. The arrow skipped gracefully over the candles flame and danced around it, letting go of all direction and purpose.
The cupid never meant for the arrow to hurt anybody, but it found the rabbit, their lover. The rabbit was spinning in it's own conciousness trying to balance out the lover's intense frequency. Hoping to contuine hopping along after their task, and go about their business.
The arrow flew through space and time to find their root of desire. The cupid didn't know where it would land but had faith that it would go to the right place. Unaware of how potent and precise the arrow could hit, the rabbit saw the arrow from above too late.
The rabbit became the Death of desire. Where no one has dared to go, where no one has thought to see, it's fear is overwhelming and the loss of this love was devastating. The time and distance they practiced to reset the relationship became the very reason of it's demise.
